Amphibians shed their skin the same way reptiles do. When a frog is ready to molt it starts rubbing on itself until the skin starts slipping off, at which point it puts the jelly-like loose end in its mouth and slurps the whole thing off its body like it's eating a long it-flavored spaghetti noodle.

The reason I bring this up is: What if salarians do that too?
