Yesterday my never married aunt tried to take her own life for the 2nd time in 6 weeks. This time while her 12 yr old adopted son was home.
I just got off the phone with my sister who lives 1500 miles away near our aunt. It was very therapeutic to talk things over and felt good to be vulnerable and trade raw feelings and expectations. I think it strengthened our bond as well.
I gently suggest to check in on your friends and family every so often. Things are getting tough for a lot of people.
