Not at all! Enjoy sharing our knowledge! We pour into a mold were the wick is threaded top to bottom, attached to a strip of wood that can shift left or right/side-to-side, once pouring begins, and is hard to catch and correct sometimes. A centered wick is best!

We used to dip tapers, but that is truly tricky, time-consuming, and exhausting to shoulders because of how many dips it takes to get a nice gauge candle. People don’t appreciate the intensive process. Or as Kingbee (npub1uen…7y76) say, “not enough sugar for the dime!” So, we pour into molds now.
Do you mount the wick to the bottom-center before pouring? Or do you just sorta eye it up and pour carefully to maintain it's position. Sorry if my questions are annoying. I just think candle making is very interesting and I'm curious. I made traditional dip candles when I was a kid where you take the wick and keep dipping it I got wax creating layer after layer until it's the desired diameter, but I've never made a candle by pouring wax into a mold.
