Not at all! Enjoy sharing our knowledge! We pour into a mold were the wick is threaded top to bottom, attached to a strip of wood that can shift left or right/side-to-side, once pouring begins, and is hard to catch and correct sometimes. A centered wick is best!
We used to dip tapers, but that is truly tricky, time-consuming, and exhausting to shoulders because of how many dips it takes to get a nice gauge candle. People don’t appreciate the intensive process. Or as Kingbee (npub1uen…7y76) say, “not enough sugar for the dime!” So, we pour into molds now.

I just think candle making is very interesting and I'm curious. I made traditional dip candles when I was a kid where you take the wick and keep dipping it I got wax creating layer after layer until it's the desired diameter, but I've never made a candle by pouring wax into a mold.
