Initial speculation was that the Volvo he was driving had been issued a recall that he ignored, due to faulty wheel nuts.
Which was disproven as the model he drove wasn't among those recalled.
French newspaper Liberation spoke to the mechanic and police involved, who said that none of what Farage claimed was true.
