#WritersCoffeeClub 27: How do you feel about the use of AI in writing?
I see it as just a more advanced spellchecker (ProWritingAid etc).
I think if you're willing to just have a book written from prompts that you type into a soulless interface, then you'll get the book you deserve. ...and I wouldn't expect that you could use all your additional spare time counting the profits.
Of course, one day that might be the big headline "Bestseller Written by Soulless Interface", but it still wouldn't stop me from writing.
I've always said that I think the first likely manifestation of a successful AI fiction, will be the sum of a famous writer's unpublished work. Where maybe there is a demand for the resulting product.
...but I think as long as we keep churning out all of our weird and wonderful storylines, then real creators will stay one step ahead.
