This is what Nvidia wants you to do though, to replace actual performance with a meaningless FPS number.
If you want better performance in your games, fake frames do not solve that. Your game does not update more often. The loop does not run twice as fast. Your inputs are not handled twice as often. If you don't notice issues, that's because your base FPS is already high enough.
