Flotilla.social looks cool, but (as far as I can tell) you need your own relay to make a group(?) It points you to doing this quite well, but then you would have to already have a wallet / sats to make a group(?)
So unfortunately it's not Totally New Person friendly (especially if they're not a bitcoiner).
