Jack Smith will take down Donald Trump. His two main witnesses against Trump are his veep (Pence) and his Chief of Staff (Meadows).
They will make Trump the person who condemns Trump by speaking Trump's words under oath in a courtroom. Especially "You're being too honest".
Trump will be convicted.
And then Jack Smith and the DOJ will turn to chop up the rest of the Republican rattlesnake. It will be a fact: Donald Trump PERPETRATED a (now) legally established conspiracy to defraud America. Everyone who took part in that conspiracy in any way, shape or form must answer for their actions. Or their INACTION.
See something, SAY something. See something, say NOTHING?
Hmmmmmm... Now, why would that be.
There were lots of R's who insisted they hated Trump's boorishness but loved his "policies". That may have worked then, it won't work when the "policies" are all criminal conspiracies.
This will transcend pulling a thread on a vile Christmas sweater. This is the whole awful garment already in pieces. Sweep em up and throw them away - in federal prison.
It will (slowly) dawn on the Republican Party that (almost) every last one of them is in deep legal peril - with all the good deals already gone - because there's no one up above them to give up.
That's when the really desperate R's will turn to the piece of dirt they hold that still has considerable value (where reducing a long prison sentence is concerned).
Donald Trump's odd relationship with Vladimir Putin.
Donald Trump had to win 2020 because he needed to finish quashing all possible investigation into how he "won" in 2016. Take Putin & Russia out of the 2016 equation and Trump would never have been POTUS.
The GOP knew it even before they nominated Trump. Current Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy said (upon entering a meeting of GOP leaders) on June 25, 2016 "There's two people I think Putin pays - Rohrbacher and Trump - swear to God!"
Everyone in the room knew that California's Dana Rohrbacher WAS in Moscow's pocket. But Trump?
No one contradicted McCarthy. Or suggested they do something about it - like call the FBI. Instead, then Speaker Of The House Paul Ryan insisted they keep this terrible secret SECRET. "That's how we know we're family," is how he put it.

Every American of voting age needs to read this document.
It's not a difficult doc to read. In fact, it flows very nicely - if sickeningly.
If the rule of law really does have its way here, we are about to witness the destruction of the entire Republican Party. When this is done, the Republican brand will be toast (except to the hard core).
There will need to be a conservative party to keep progressives like me in check. But it won't be the GOP. That institution will lie in The History Graveyard alongside the Whigs.
But the Whigs won't like having traitors like the Republicans anywhere near them.
