Ok here's my take on reddit being stuck in 2018.
During 2016-2020 reddit was the driving force behind mainstream internet culture, they'd come up with new memes every so often and it would be the primary method of communication. Then came the rise of the gram meme's started evolving on different platforms more edgy, less brand safe, more sexniggababy type content which then evolved into instagram reels comment section since facebook started demonizing traditional meme pages.
Reddit couldn't adopt such a format due to their overall structure, and dying userbase combined with it's refined echo chamber.
