I can confirm that this wobbling isn't due to issues with bed adhesion. in my case, at least, because the stem is thin enough to be a bit elastic in PLA, it ends up wobbling around because the nozzle is slightly hitting/pushing up against the filament it's printing on top of. I also *know* i lose z-steps -- i've never put in the work to fix it because I rarely print tall things, and when I do I can usually get it to work anyway
