That's not "Mastodon" - that's a particular instance, mastodon.social.

Mastodon is composed of completely independent instances. Some of them are Fascist! Some are radical leftist. mastodon.social is pretty liberal centrist and pretty low rent.

I personally never see the Fascist instances because my Amsterdam instance blocks them all, and probably vice versa.
