I think what I miss the most about the bygone days when web pages were served via HTML, rather than dynamic bloated off-the-shelf 20Mb javascript "frameworks" is the ability to click to another page, realize it's not what you're looking for, and then hit the 'back' button and end up right where you started.
Somewhere along the line, it became acceptable to force users to re-scroll down a long list of entries each time they click one.
