If you've as yet not got a smart meter for your energy usage & have been wondering whether now might be the time... the fact that non-working meters have grown from 2.7m in June 2023 to nearly 4m at the end of December might give you pause for thought.

OfGem if exploring surge pricing for energy use, but if they cannot sort out the technology to make it work then a variable price cap looks unworkable right now.

Smart meters look to have been oversold... & needs further development!
