I ran into a very interesting website last night. I had watched a video on YouTube about children's picture books and they had a lady who runs one of the branches of a very large agency of authors and illustrators.
Not to encourage you to hire someone else, though that should always be your prerogative, but in case you'd like to see and get ideas of what styles seem to be trending from artists who have been published the traditional way, landing in bookstores.
My DMs act up on my cell, that's why I'm typing this here in the note, instead of a DM.
I'd like to encourage you to visit that site and just get ideas.

I'm in love with many of the Unsung Heroes that Pete Beard features in his YouTube channel as well.
But if you have a passion for your story, it will feed you images into your night and daydreams. Even when nothing will perfectly match it, it's always a possibility you'll find close resemblances.
I love drawing. I love also learning & tailoring images that are not only MY vision. Drawing something I like is an amazing feeling. Drawing something that meets someone else's imagination is even more fulfilling at times.
