Gonna try and read through the Aslice mechanics, but it’s crazy work if DJ’s are buying the music, then playing it, paying PROs for licensing to play it, then paying the artists/producers separately for playing it, then paying the platforms that they’ve played the music on for playing it. With the lions share of money going to 🥁…LABELS! 😬
Imo the DJ is helping the artist more than the labels or the platforms, as they’ve already paid (although small on the licensing side) to OWN and play the artists music. Without the DJs many of these artists would have minimal discovery on these oversaturated platforms.
An artist who is getting spun by 1000’s of DJs will never need a label or a platform that they don’t own themselves.
