When you look up severe ear wound you'll see that, like any head wound, you can die from it. Top of the ear bullet shot is probably the worst or maybe a dog attack tear, I'd say you'd bleed out and die in 15 mins or much less with no pressure as it causes blood loss to the brain, AIS, Acute ischemic stroke.
