Can understand your frustration with the on-boarding. I can't comment on signing up via mobile, but I would suggest to others you talk to sign up via Iris.to and then go from there. Iris has a relatively painless sign-up as well as Coracle, imo
For the crypto wallet it's not mandatory you use one, as liking, commenting, following others are ways you can express value.
