The rest of history will consist of a tiny and immiserated portion of humanity bitterly hating us, our current generations, for destroying our own ecosystem.

It will be by far the greatest crime every committed, with a death toll far greater than all the wars and genocides in history put together, and that's not including the millions of non-human species we'll have exterminated.
