There is a lot of bad advice about parallel vias lowering inductance that is derived from old stuff like this diagram. Folks point out that arrangement A with five parallel vias had the lowest measured total inductance, but they ignore the fact that those vias were about 1.5 mm apart from each other which is a tremendous distance by today's standards.
