When the fog starts rolling in
During winter night time temperature inversions can result in fog being trapped close to the ground. At sunrise when the sun slowly starts raising air temperature fog is being lifted up along with its upper ceiling. In this area here in Switzerland fog starts rolling into villages that have been above the fogs upper ceiling during night time creating this mystic scenery. Eventually the fog may roll over the passes into neighbouring valleys in form of a wave (colloquial called fog-wave).
