Here's the thing about scale. I've been seeing a few people talk about #nostr and saying that it won't replace the internet because it's just json over websockets.
The transport layer can change and nostr can still exist; it wouldn't be too hard to do nostr over raw tcp or udp sockets, nor would it be hard to change the data encoding protocol from json to something more efficient.
But right now is not the time to think about this; first we need to #buildstr, slowly, we need to take it to its extremes, and yes we need to get to a point where the transport layer really does become a problem, and THEN we can fix it.
