There is nothing in the NT that specifies a "church" as being what God wanted. Furthermore, the insistence of Catholics that God somehow left the reigns to Peter, which became the RCC is easily refuted by their utter omission in Revelation, and the church (ecclesia - congregation) of Philadelphia and Laodicea being praised. Why would Jesus praise churches that were not Rome, or founded by Peter, as being paragons of his desire?
