💥 UPDATE💥 A NEW @CDCgov MMWR shows that amongst large-animal veterinarians some bird 🦅 flu cases are going under the radar and a few have been infected in states without known H5N1 outbreaks. Approx 2%, or 3 of the 150 vets tested, had Abs in their blood🩸suggestive of recent H5 infection. None recalled having any symptoms.
The most recent serious #birdflu infection occurred at in a farmworker in Ohio, who was hosp’d with respiratory symptoms but has since recovered. Subtyping is pending, but
