This was actually the main goal I tried to use IPFS for, a decade ago, and why I was interested in IPFS in the first place. I even started a bunch of software to help streamline the creation, management and discovery of such community archives. And I tried to put IPFS on top of S3 and other providers. But of course IPFS nothing I wanted to do worked. And in the end I lost a big part of the content I had been storing for years due to an IPFS bug.
