Admittedly it's a shame that coinbase became a complete casino with a facade of legitimacy whereas it used to be a pretty safe place to recommend for new people. Anyone that was wiring cash to MtGox though should have known the risk, and anyone with a ounce of sense shouldn't have trusted FTX and Sam especially so the regulators and politicions (Looking at you Bill and Blair... Bet that was a nice paycheck!)
