Could you elaborate? In what way?

I'm not sure how without tearing the family apart. I also haven't spent a lot of time finding alternatives to our current setup so perhaps I should explore that.

> Why are you begging for money instead of creating something of value.
because I'm in a nich of a niche of a niche for freedom tech and there's few else I know working on the problem that the grants aim to resolve. It's one step better than being the wage slave I am now, but I do get your meaning. I am pretty terrible at business but am building one on the side to hopefully replace current wage slavery and grant begging. (i don't see grant asks as begging. I'm going to do the work anyway, the grant just enables me to focus full time on it.) I'm about 1 year into the business and have seen some success. This is probably where I should focus more time coming soon. But also, open source is hardly a business model, and that's where my real desires lay.

Ideals are definitely at odds with expectations, but those expectations are from my family, whom I love. How does one neglect expectations of their family? I would see this as a greater failure than not realizing my ideals.

Thank you for the feedback.
