Just my opinion: I don't think the "preemptive attack to some evil Russian plan" is going to cut it. The public won't accept it as sufficient justification.

They might some time in the future, after more years of overton window engineering, but I don't think right now.

Also with more and more people (as to my observations) becoming more wary of their govt's stance towards armed conflicts (rules based international order blahblah) due to the critique worthy support of the Israeli government.
