How can smart people even come to the conclusion that voting is pointless?

I mean, there are some countries where it actually mostly doesn't matter if you vote at all or who you vote .. but I'd say those are few.

It's just absurd how some people dismiss one of the top 5 (would be my guess) most effective methods how they can influence the world.
