My thought while listening to Yuval Noah Harari being interviewed by Lex Fridman: podcasts - while being pleasant to listen to - are a tricky if not dangerous medium.
Why?
Because they allow the persons who're talking to paint coarse pictures and tell compelling stories that lack depth and don't fit reality.
You may ask: how's that different from text based media?
Podcasts/videos are different from text because of additional mental overhead: the added difficulty of usually having to follow the reasoning at an imposed speed. Added difficulty because you have to remember statements, instead of being able to quickly scroll back/up to review. And maybe some more things.
Because of these effects, I think, a biased story told in a podcast episode is more likely to get away with unsound reasoning told in a compelling way than a biased story written in text.
