I understand they need to fill airtime during breaking news, but a lot of the 'on the scene' takes is just someone who has very little information and knowledge of the subject matter, trying to say they know nothing new over and over again for a few minutes in as many different ways as possible by repeating what they do know, and then adding whatever they know, feel or think on the subject matter they know little of, then they anchors repeating it over and over as info slowly trickles in.
