What about the cafeteria/mess staff? On a station that big you couldn't just put grunts on KP duty, they'd be too busy to run around shooting and missing our heroes! You would need to hire space food service companies to keep everyone fed. So say nothing of other things that militaries outsource for base management. When you stop to think about it, Luke killed thousands of civilian workers....
