When I was younger and FPS games were new/novel they were fun, but I haven't really enjoyed many of them since Skyrim and the Metroid Prime games. The original Wolfenstein 3D was a blast but I was also 14 when it came out which was probably a factor.

These days I find my favorite genre seems to be "let me play as a lost and/or mischievous li'l critter and either help people, antagonize people, or both" (Untitled Goose Game, Stray, Little Kitty Big City, etc.)
