But I worked in forestry in this region for a short while and during harvesting they spray a *lot* of glyphosate around (litres for every tree harvested). So there's a good chance that's what it is. The tanker trucks on the ground looked like the glyphosate tankers.
Having said that, glyphosate doesn't really work unless the leaves of the target plant are saturated, so dropping it from a helicopter on a windy day seems like an enormous waste of money. So I guess we're back to my original answer: idk.
