If you have to use multiple UTXOs as inputs in a transaction to reach the desired amount, you're pretty much revealing as much as if you had consolidated those UTXOs prior to making the transaction. Consolidating when fees are low presumably lowers the associated cost (even more if you use another transaction you're making anyway to consolidate) without any substantial privacy drawback. But as
