It's impossible for art to not be political. "Politics" is just how we organize as society, and "art" is expression. The two are inseparable; every artwork is a political statement.
Of course what people who say "art shouldn't be political" actually mean is "art must normalize and reinforce the political status quo" which is the most political agenda there is.
