It's not over until the fat sunspot rotates away.
Sunspot complex 3664 just let off an X8.8 flare pointed AWAY from Earth. This means (very sadly) we are unlikely to get another round of aurorae like last Friday.
But there is a lot left in this Solar Max, so keep watching.
