Congratulations on your new fork! However I'd say there's little point in buying upgrades for a bike of that age. I totally get the "trusty old bike" argument, but newer generations of mtb's are waaaaaaay more capable than any bike of 20 years ago. I'm not trying to diss your ride, just that maybe instead of trying to upgrade the old one, think about getting a new start.

It's not about getting "faster" on your trails. Newer bikes have much better geometry (comfier riding position and easier to ride), have better gear (tyres with way more grip, gears that are easier to set up, better brakes which are easier on your arms, etc) and are generaly easier to maintain and also upgrade. It's a whole new world really. And I know what I'm talking about - I rode all those bikes and everything in between :D
