Back when I was in and looking at what constituted being a conscientious objector, I got laughed by the senior enlisted when I explained what moral or philosophical objections individuals might have against service even in noncombat roles. US Military leadership can't acknowledge and either avoids or flat out rejects any argument made with the premise that the system itself contains flaws or that leaders are incompetent.
