I never know what to call myself.
I study audiology but I'm not an audiologist.
I've directly stimulated the auditory nerve to study the effects of different electrical configurations. Am I a neuroscientist?
I study perception and preference, so am I some kind of psychologist?
What about my research on the voice? On lexical segmentation? On auditory scene analysis? Measurement error? Linguistic context effects?
I dunno. There's no single, clean, clear category for me.
I'm nonbinary.
