Kid's birthday cake is finally in the oven! He wanted chocolate cake because his mates do, but he's allergic (anaphylactic) to one of the common ingredients, and mildly allergic to another one.

So I read a bunch of substituted recipes and ended up making it up as I went along. I'm not a terrible baker, and preteen boys have low standards, so I think it'll be fine :)
