Great interview with the late Dr. Jack Geiger, family physician who, in the 1950s, studied with the founders of the Pholela Community Health Center in KwaZuluNatal, South Africa and imported the Community Health Center model back to the USA. He and Dr Count Gibson founded the first two U.S. CHCs, in Mound Bayou, Mississippi and Dorchester, Massachusetts. There are now more than 12,000 CHCs throughout the USA providing primary care to 1 out of every 10 Americans!
