£22bn would be enough to retrofit around 750,000 homes to passive standards - i.e. effectively zero heating and certainly zero carbon heating. That would reduce carbon footprint by around 6 million tonnes CO2_e per year and would eliminate fuel poverty for those households for as long as they stand.
£22bn invested in these carbon capture schemes will be used to prop up the profits of a dying fossil fuel industry that's doing its damndest to take us all with it.
