It's quite rich how the West was quick to lecture China about freedom when Hong Kong protesters were taking to the streets, yet their response to similar unrest in their own backyard has been far more draconian.
Suddenly they seem to have discovered that some speech is indeed detrimental to society and needs to be curtailed.
