This is the gate alarm I mentioned a couple of days ago. So far I have not fried this one. My PCB is the purple bottom layer and I've added a TP4056 (blue) for battery charging and an ESP01 (top layer) which has the processor. It wakes up when the blue contacts are shorted and sends a message to my home server which eventually gets to my phone.
I'll connect a solar panel to the green terminals which should keep the battery charged.
It also triggers a barking dog.
