Their body temp is higher, but they are one of the few breeds where clothing is considered humane and acceptable. A half covered fuzzy kitty bed and having blankets will make them feel comfortable.

Some people think sphynx skin feels leathery. I personally have no idea why. Sphynx are not completely bald, they have "peach fuzz" so to me they feel like velvet or suede.

Most sphynx are diligent groomers, but you will need to clear there ears and give them baths regularly since they don't have hair to help with skin oil and ear wax. Most are not "oily" unless you never bathe them, but there is a thing called sphynx rust, where their natural body oils will turn regular (light colored) resting spots--like their bed--a copper or rust color. This is not permanent and washes out easily.

All in all, moxie is the best kitty. Sphynx are very dog-like, they are very affectionate (many say boys, typically moreso than girls) and want to be part of whatever is going on. If you want a lazy window-watcher of a cat, this is not the breed for you.

Also, they need high quality food, it help keep their skin and scent in check. moxie has been raised on the 100% raw "ancentral diet" since she was weened. I also prepare raw chicken necks for her to help her clean her teeth, and raw freeze-dried lamb tripe for snacks. :)

She is such a joy and a sweetheart. I'd be lost without her. She's my lil ride-or-die 💜
