Just by curiosity and nostalgia I would say yes! 
When I was young I was passionate by making my own (changing the sun, songs and other little things like trying to make 3D lamp post and a signboard (never managed to make them work properly hah))
I wonder how the files changed since, I was there when they splitted most of the texture and the renaming from "texture pack" to "ressource pack"
