Your regular reminder that if something in science or tech is presented like a revolution/fundamentally new/disruptive/game changing/the future, and unless there is a strong scientific consensus that it actually is, there is an overwhelmingly-large probability that this thing is at best overhyped bullshit and at worst a complete scam to make money defrauding credulous people. Humans are shit at dealing with this in real time and usually only learn this at their expense .
