I don't think I gain any value from a social media platform that has 7 billion users versus a social media platform that has 13 million users. My social graph doesn't extend, can't extend, beyond a few thousand.
Meta has not made the value proposition for Thread clear. I don't believe they can. I don't believe there is one.
