Google did this. Flickr (member them) did it. It’s sadly a very old story and why protocols are so important to decentralization. Facebook has done it too. Ironically (and I say this not b/c I have lots of Microsoft stock and work at GitHub to be clear), Microsoft is one of the best in this regard, though I’m sure they’ve done rug pulls too. The way Reddit is fucking up is unique, but this didn’t start with Elon at all.
