Nice post! What do you think about the theory that Jesus actually traveled to study in Egypt during his early adulthood?
Also, I had the good fortune to attend Stephen Hoeller's lectures for a number of years. While I see the basis for your criticisms, my experience of him and his community was more in line with Gnosticism you describe in contrast.
